On Saturday 15th July, during half time between Sacramento Republic FC and Memphis 901 at Heart Health Park, there were some special guests on the pitch receiving awards to mark the end of the Sacramento 2023 Homeless World Cup.

As is tradition of the tournament, the final ‘special’ awards are given out at the players’ party which this year took place in the evening sunshine at The California State Fair, the annual state fair for the state of California which was being held at Cal Expo in Sacramento.

Sacramento Republic FC invited all teams and players involved in this year’s Homeless World Cup to come and watch them take on Memphis 901 and also asked the winners of the Sacramento 2023 Special Awards to come onto the pitch at half time to recieve their well deserved accolades.

Giving out the awards were Lawrence Cann (SSUSA founder), Mel Young (HWC co-founder), Tino Nombro (HWC Board Member) and Peter Barr (HWC Board Member).
